IJOMAHIP publishes cutting-edge research spanning diverse areas, including but not limited to Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Laboratory Science, Clinical Medicine, Evidence-based Practices, Health Care Policies, Leadership and Management, One Health and Global Health, Nursing, Public Health, Pharmaceutical, Rehabilitation and Translational Sciences as well as other interdisciplinary studies addressing contemporary healthcare challenges.
IJOMAHIP is committed to scientific rigor and ethical publishing. Our journal does not make editorial decisions on the basis of the interest of a study or its likely impact. Studies must be scientifically valid; for research articles this includes a scientifically sound research question, the use of suitable methods and analysis, and adherence to community-agreed standards relevant to the research field.

We are interested in individuals who are committed to open access, data sharing and innovation in scientific publishing.
Ideal candidates should:
- Have a doctorate (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent qualification) in relevant Medical or Health Science field
- Have a strong publication record in reputable, English language, peer-reviewed journals
- Be frequently listed as corresponding author (first or last author) in the last five years
- Have prior editorial or peer-review experience (preferred but not required)
- Have demonstrable expertise that fits within the scope and the need of the journal

Your Roles and Responsibilities
Our Editorial Board is dedicated to supporting the research community through the efficient and constructive management of scholarly papers. By becoming a member of the IJOMAHIP Editorial Board, you can actively contribute to this important mission.
The primary role of our Editorial Board Members is to oversee the peer review process, ensuring the scientific quality of the manuscripts they manage. As a member, you will be responsible for adhering to the journal’s ethos, editorial standards, policies, and scope, thereby ensuring that all manuscripts are processed efficiently and appropriately. Your involvement is crucial in maintaining the integrity and excellence of the journal’s publications, ultimately benefiting researchers and scholars alike.
As Editorial Board Member, your responsibilities include:
Core responsibilities
- Reviewing: The Chief Editor may occasionally seek your expertise to review additional manuscripts within your area of specialization.
- Availability: It is your responsibility to inform the Chief Editor of any periods of unavailability.
- Contact Information: You are responsible for notifying journal staff of any changes to your contact information or professional details, such as email addresses or affiliations.
Contributing to the journal’s success
- Promotion: Acting as an ambassador for the journal, you play a crucial role in promoting submissions and emphasizing its ethos, scope, and objectives.
- Recruitment: You are encouraged to recommend qualified candidates to the Chief Editor for consideration as editorial board members.
Maintaining active participation
- Activity: If you have not accepted a manuscript assignment in the past 6 months without prior notification of an extended absence, the Chief Editor may contact you to discuss your continued participation on the board and potentially consider removal.
Leaving the board
- Resignation: Should you wish to step down from the board, you are responsible for notifying the Chief Editor so that appropriate measures can be taken.
As Editorial Board Member- Academic Reviewers, you are expected to perform the following functions:
Manuscript Handling & Review
- Typically handle one to two new manuscripts per month and accept/decline invitations promptly, ideally within two (2) working days.
- Decline invitations to handle manuscripts and/or notify Chief Editor in cases where you feel unable to maintain objectivity or identify a conflict of interest.
- Ensure timely evaluations of submitted manuscripts from initial assessment to final decision, including any necessary revisions.
- Provide constructive feedback on submitted articles based on your expertise supporting the journal’s ethos, editorial standards, policies, and scope.
- Ensure the efficient and appropriate handling of manuscripts under your purview, verifying that these submissions meet all stipulated requirements of the journal.
- Recommend informed editorial decisions to guide the publication process based on a comprehensive assessment of each manuscript.
Maintaining Integrity & Ethical Standards
- Uphold the integrity of the peer-review process by maintaining strict anonymity and confidentiality throughout the evaluation of manuscripts.
- Any instances of suspected plagiarism, duplicate submission, or other unethical practices must be promptly reported to the Chief Editor to ensure the maintenance of academic integrity.
Supporting Authors & Enhancing the Journal
- Deliver a professional and supportive experience for authors, providing constructive feedback and guidance throughout the publication journey.
- Enrich the journal’s content and contribute your expertise, you are encouraged to submit editorials, reviews, or commentaries whenever the opportunity arises.
- Contribute to the journal’s overall reputation and credibility within the scholarly community by upholding rigorous academic standards.
